We were visiting Cape Elizabeth and the lighthouse when we stumbled upon this restaurant. The parking lot was packed for a Friday around 1pm. Definitely more of a locals place judging by all the license plates, and by speaking with one young lady inside who mentioned she visits the restaurant often for many years now and most of the customers were local inside.
We were greeted and immediately seated. The food was plenty and delicious. My son ordered the Turkey Rachel, my husband had the Tuna Melt and I had the Haddock sandwich. Everything was wonderful. I will say, neither of us saw the Specials listed on the board on the side wall, so make sure you check that out or ask your waitress about it! Everything on the Specials sounds amazing and we wish we had seen that as I was craving a lobster roll and chowder!
What a fantastic find! The tables are decorated with cute little tea pot lamps, the food was fantastic. We particularly enjoyed the Maine Root drinks and the server who was so friendly - we'd not made up our mind on what to get so she walked by our table to "show off" certain meals to us. Just bubbly and fun!
Out at Cape Elizabeth State Park and on leaving, we agreed food would be a good thing about now. Maps said nearest restaurant was The Good Table so we decided to check it out...and it was EXCELLENT!!! What was MOST excellent was the family that runs the place. Just good people with no pretense intent on cooking and serving really good food for reasonable prices - mostly to locals who packed the place. I had the French Dip and my partner had the Small Greek Salad (we have this reverse Jack Sprat thing). Also had a bowl of some of the best clam chowder I've ever had.
The Good Table is worth the stop...THEN you can go to the park to digest your food
While recently visiting the Cape Elizabeth area and met the owner of the Good Table by chance at a camp fire and she suggested we stop by on Boxing Day and we were happy we did. The food was wonderful and the service no less than great. The corned beef hash was really quite good in particular. I look forward to visiting again and highly recommend the Good Table.
Great service, beautiful garden / outside sitting area and delicious food! We ordered clam chowder, gazpacho, the haddockwich and their crab cake BLT special. All delicious. Memorable clam chowder! Lots of people asking questions about reservations that night for dinner so my impression is their limited patio dining (during COVID) fills up quickly for dinner. But - the picnic tables are all first come first serve and there is a takeout window offering the same menu. Recommend!
After the visit to the lighthouse, we stumbled on to this place! Was absolutely amazing. The lobster roll was great, the fries were perfect! My boyfriend had a burger with fries and even that was amazing! Really great food, super sweet staff with great drinks! One of my new favorite places in Maine.
Great family-owned restaurant with fantastic home cooked meals. A winner for anything brunch through dinner. The strawberry balsamic pie is a seasonal favorite my family and I wait all year for!
Finally went for Maine Restaurant week and was NOT disappointed. Good portions, amazing taste, and relaxing ambiance. I can't pick which of these courses was my favorite but they were: shaved brussel sprout salad with bacon, dried cranberries, and walnuts, pumpkin seed crusted salmon, and Eskimo pie with warm caramel sauce.
